"RESOLUTION NC 2 -03, ADOPTED AT THE 32nd NATIONAL CONVENTION, OF THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION, CALLS FOR DISPLAYING OF A BLUE STAR SERVICE BANNER AT NATIONAL MEETINGS OF THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION AS A SYMBOL OF OUR SUPPORT OF ALL THE MILITARY PERSONNEL SERVING THIS GREAT COUNTRY. LET US NEVER FORGET THAT EVERY DAY THESE INDIVIDUALS ARE PROTECTING OUR LIBERTY.."

Title: BLUE STAR SERVICE CORPORATE BANNER

“WHEREAS,
On September 24, 1917, an Ohio congressman read the following into the Congressional Record “….The mayor of Cleveland, the Chamber of Commerce and the Governor of Ohio have adopted this service flag. The world should know of those who give so much for liberty…”; and
“WHEREAS,
 Resolution No. 107 adopted at the Eighty-Third National Convention of The American Legion which urges Legionnaires to vigorously promote the use of the Blue Star Banner; and
“WHEREAS,
The Detachment Executive Committee of the Detachment of Ohio, adopted Resolution MWC-1 (Blue Star Service Corporate Banner) which states “That the Sons of The American Legion honor those currently serving our country in the armed forces with the displaying of the Blue Star Service Corporate Banner at every national meeting of the Sons of The American Legion”; and
“WHEREAS,
The Detachment of Ohio has forwarded this resolution to National for it’s consideration; now therefore be it,
“RESOLVED,
by the National Convention of the Sons of The American Legion assembled in convention sessions in St. Louis, Missouri, August 22 - 24, 2003, that a Blue Star Service Corporate Banner be displayed at all National Meetings of the Sons of The American Legion. Note: Only the Corporate Blue Star Banner should be used. The regular Blue Star Banners are for families with active duty personnel.
