Post-Parade Party
Sunday, August 23, 2009 from 5:15PM to 8:30PM
Main Street from 7th to 9th Streets in downtown Louisville, KY.

American Legion Family members may relax, sample the tastes of Louisville and have some refreshing beverages after the annual parade.

After each delegation finishes the parade route, they are welcome to stay and enjoy the festivities or they may follow parade marshal instructions and depart the parade route. For those driving vehicles in the parade, they will be directed to parking lots off of 6th and East Market Streets and then shown the way to the post-parade party festivities.

Along with the “cash and carry” food & beverages being provided to us, at reasonable prices, by Masterpiece Creations, we will be entertained by one of Louisville’s premier rock bands – The Monarchs. The Monarchs will entertain us from 7:30PM to 8:30PM. Each Department’s buses, provided to us, by Sandollar Limo, will be positioned on 9th Street at the intersection of Main and 9th Streets. Sandollar has arranged with most Departments to have buses running back to the respective hotels until the post-parade party concludes.

While all of these festivities are taking place, Beam Global will be conducting a complimentary “bourbon tasting” at the Slugger Museum and the Frazier Historical Arms Museum. All American Legion Family members may get their complimentary “tasting” ticket by visiting the Beam Global exhibit in Hall 2C, Kentucky International Convention Center, beginning at 8:00AM on Friday, August 21, 2009.

If that isn’t enough, Slugger and Frazier Museums are offering discounted ticket prices to tour their museums and complimentary entrance to ALL active duty personnel in uniform. We sense this will be a great venue for our attendees to relax and wind down after a great parade. Should any of you have concerns or questions please feel free to let us know. We are very much looking forward to seeing all of you in just a few days as you attend the 91st National Convention of The American Legion.

Sincerely,

Your Convention & Meetings Team
