1) QUESTION: Why is Communty Service important? ANSWER: The American Legion and The Sons of The American Legionwere founded to support our "Community, State and Nation", and as a non-profit groupur major goals include makingour communities better in any way we can. 2) QUESTION: What resources are available for Squadrons/Districts/Detachments to help thier respective Community Service Committtees? ANSWER: For starters the Community Service Statement, The Americanism Manual and the Administrative Manual. 3) QUESTION: Why was my Scrapbook rejected? ANSWER: The guidelines for Scrapbook entry was not followed. It MUST contain Community Service activities. 4) QUESTION: Where can I find the guidelines? ANSWER: You can find them in the Community Service area on the Commission/Committee page. 5) QUESTION: What activities and programs qualify as Community Service? ANSWER: Anything you do for or in your community such as church groups, Boy or Girl Scouts or helping individuals. 6) QUESTION: Will working with Seniors constitute Community Service? ANSWER: Yes. Visits to senior's homes, taking seniors shopping, mowing their yard or anything you do for the seniors in your community is Community Service.
