May is for remembering the veteran in my mind. Memorial Day is coming up at the end of the month for all of us to remember what the veteran in our life or the veteran we know have done for our country. They have fought for us to have the freedoms we have known and will always have. The Sons of the American Legion must help the American Legion in any way we can help to promote Memorial Day. This might be helping put out flags on the veteran’s graves, or helping with the honor guard, or the memorial service, we must help make this day a very special day for all of the veterans. We are also in the start of American Legion Baseball season. At the end of this month the American Legion Baseball season will be under way. This is a program that the Son’s of the American Legion can sponsor. The players learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, leadership and good sportsmanship. The American Legion sponsors American Legion Baseball to give players an opportunity to develop their skills, personal fitness, and leadership qualities and to have fun. These are important programs that can be added to your Consolidated Report forms. Don’t send your forms in until they are fully completed. Check with your Detachment to see when they want them, so they can be counted, but remember they must be in to National 30 days before the National Convention.
