Team Midwest: We are in the final lap of race ten, what a race it has been this year, we are currently in second place still, but only 3.5% separates 1st and 5th place. The closest membership race in years. Remember membership never ends, the Stone Yard 365 will end July 24th but our goal to continue our growth in The Sons of The American Legion needs to continue each and every day. As we all know membership is everyones responsibility.
We as a team this year have the ability to have ten detachments at 100%, North Dakota and New Mexico are both in the winners circle at 113.5% and 105.8 %. Close behind are Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming all over 100%. Texas, Nebraska, Montana, and Oklahoma are gaining and South Dakota looks like you could get laped I know you'll be there in the end.
I'd like to take this time to congratulate the following detachments for equaling and surpassing their goal towards Child Welfare donations this year, Colorado 678%, Wyoming 191%, Kansas 129%, Texas 124% and South Dakota 103%. Great job guys as always you can find the Midwest up at the top in contributions. In the end though the real winners are the kids.
We must continue to work with and support our children and youth programs through out your community's for they are this nations future. And please visit the kids that are hospitalized in your Children's hospitals. The smile you will receive will last a lifetime.
And last; your volunteer service to our veterans and their family's and throughout your veteran's homes and hospitals must remain our number one objective. They need our support each and every day.
