Team South,
We are coming up on race # 9, the third and final race of the spring season. Team South has ran strong and led most of the year. The other teams have caught up and turned it into a race. Now it’s time to put the pedal down and run all out to the checkered flag. The stage is set for a great finish so don’t let up. Let’s give it that extra push and make this a record year. Go after those renewals and continue to recruit new members.
As the race for membership carries on toward the checkered flag, April is the time we also focus on the children and youth programs. We are also nearing the final lap of the “Blue Cap 365”, the race to raise funds for the Child Welfare Foundation. Looks like this may go down to the wire but there is still time and we can make this another record year, so let’s get those contributions turned in.
We also need to stress to our squadrons to fill out the consolidated report forms. Last year we had less than 20% of squadrons reporting. Some say they don’t send in the reports because they’re not looking for recognition or they’re not competing for awards or they don’t have that much to report but there’s a lot more to it. It’s a way to gage our strength and participation of our organization. It’s like signing our name to what we do and letting everyone know that we’re proud to do it and we’re proud of what we represent. It’s not just recognition for what we do but it brings recognition to the programs we promote and what we stand for. If your squadron does not have a copy of the form, get in touch with your Detachment and let’s all make an effort to get these reports turned in.
The flag will fall on the ninth race of the season and the last of the spring series on May 24th, this is the 100% target. Let’s put the pedal down and race all out to the checkered flag. Drive safe, enjoy the ride and thanks to everyone for all your efforts.
